Birthday Girl

by Smockity Frocks on February 10, 2007

Our sweet girl turned 7 today. She requested a “pig” birthday cake. It was so sweet the way she asked for it, chock full of confidence that I was perfectly capable of doing what she wanted.

I have nowhere near the talent some people have, but I rolled up my sleeves and did my best. I know there are lots of you out there who could have done a neater job, made fluffier frosting, or had ears that were more recognizable, (I had to explain what they were a couple of times) but I did what I could and was pleased with the pleasure it gave my daughter.

If we are always waiting until we are perfect before we do a thing, lots of things will get left undone. I knew ahead of time my pig wasn’t going to be perfect, but it was perfectly pleasing to a 7 year old girl.

Ohh… now, my cakes are always flat (as in a 9×13). LOL… Way to go!! I see heighth. I’m impressed. I can see the ears… and I didn’t even have to squint.

What a pleasant mommy you must be. Ü

THANKS for sharing the photo.

OMG that is adorable!!! We had a pancake pajama birthday party once and played pin the pig on the pancake (after reading If You Give A Pig A Pancake). I wish I’d known about this cake because that would have been the best. You did a great job on that.
