Our sweet 5 year old girl (in white) went and turned 6 on us!! She loves monkeys, so we had a monkey party.
Everyone liked this monkey cake I made from directions I got at the Martha Stewart website. Don’t you just want to eat him up?
If you click on that link, I would thank you kindly to pretend that my monkey looks every bit as smooth as hers and that my monkey’s ears are as perfectly congruent and even as hers. Gracias!

Connie, that’s really cute! I’m really into baking, but I can’t decorate a cake to save my life.

Awww, that’s so cute and sweet of you! I like yours better, it’s smiling more.
I made a football cake last year for homecoming…it needed some help, lol.
Happy Birthday!

first, the cake is so darn cute!
second, even though i used to swear i could not live without my ms living subscription (which i eventually did!), i wonder if it is really possible to achieve her recipes. i followed to the tiniest detail her cake and icing recipe to make the cupcake cake when mine turned one. cupcakes were dry, icing-yuck. and i am not a bad cook/baker!!

Super cute monkey cake! You did a great job. And your little monkeys with their little monkeys make such a fun picture. Happy Birthday! My daughter loves monkeys too. It was a toss-up between monkeys or a fairy princess party for her upcoming birthday. But she decided on fairy princess. And I just found the perfect wallet for her at Wal-Mart. (She’s been begging for a wallet to put her 27 cents in.) It is purple, which is her favorite color, and has a monkey with a crown on her head. I’m assuming it’s a girl monkey. It looks like a girl monkey. Wow I rambled.

Actually, I think yours looks cuter than the one over at the “other place!” Theirs looks kind of mean and yours just looks happy! What a great job you did!

Thanks, y’all.
Stacey, I used my own recipes for the cake and the icing. I just followed her directions for the look.
Nikki, I just saw your post about the princess party. I don’t have any ideas, but I’ll think on it.

Hi,
Just found your website today while surfing for party ideas. I am planning on having a monkey party for my little boy’s 1st birthday. Martha Stewart’s cake is my inspiration. I’m planning on trying it. Do you have any pointers?
