What's the big deal about Young Living

Update

Well, the good news is no one else has got the stomach virus, so far.

The bad news is the 4 month old has a diaper rash that has been getting increasingly worse. I had taken her to the doctor for it late last week, but it just did not get any better.

I called yesterday, as soon as the office opened, and reported to the doctor that the cream he prescribed didn’t seem to have any effect. She now had raw, oozing places that I was very concerned about.

He called in 2 more prescriptions that he ordered for home delivery and said that she should go without any diaper until it gets better.

So… I immediately thought, “Yippee! More laundering of towels and sheets!” Because we all know when we are busy washing towels and sheets, the other laundry mates in the hampers. They increase and multiply, each unto its own kind and fill the household, verily. The jeans after their kind and the socks after their kind until the whole household is filled with abundance. The woman is to have dominion over the laundry and subdue it. She looks upon the laundry and is sore afraid, yea, even unto trembling.

Then, an 8 yr. old angel appears before her as like a light, saying, “Mommy, I will help you.” and the woman greatly rejoices, praising the Lord for the blessings He has sent her.

Where was I?

Oh, yes. There were many towels and sheets to launder, because 2 yr. old continued to have very frequent upsets. Anytime I gave her a popsicle or a bowl of crushed ice to eat, and I never gave her anything more substantial than that, it came right back up, almost immediately.

She begged me for water several times throughout the day, but she just couldn’t keep any down. Poor baby.

She didn’t throw up any last night because I gave her Phenergen before bed time. So far, she is very grumpy this morning, but I hope the worst is over.

Husband is coming home tonight.

Thank you, all for your prayers.

  1. Oh. my. goodness. Aaaaa!!! I’d be pulling my hair out at this point. Our prayers are with you. Poor babies! and poor Connie!!

  2. Does he have any idea what he’s walking into? :)

Glad the worst is over! One day, you will laugh. Right? Maybe?

Well, at the very least, you will be able to look at some younger mother and say, “I understand.”

  3. Sorry are going through so many different ailments at once!

Mine have done that same diaper rash business. I’m sure you’ve used it all, but leaving that diaper off will probably help the best. Desitin is the *only* thing that actually seals out moisture completely so that helped when I had to put the diaper back on.

Hope your little one is on the mend today :)

  4. Ugh. Just checking in to see if ‘It’ had spread. Glad to see it hasn’t, but hate to see you succumb to the curse of the laundry. :)

One of my boys had a diaper rash that wouldn’t go away one time and our pedi said it wasn’t a regular diaper rash, but yeast, so he prescribed an antifungal type thing that worked wonders!

Glad your husband will be home soon!

  5. My son had a month long bout with a serious diaper rash that included bloody, oozing sores (sorry I even looks gross to read the words!). Our pedi said the same thing and prescribed an anti-fungal that finally seemed to work. Good luck, and I totally feel your pain with the laundry.

Praying that your little one is on the mend and that the rest of you stay healthy.
I too was going to mention the possibility of a yeast infection rash. I’ve had a couple of children get this and it was the worst rash I’d ever seen…yet with the antifungal cream, it cleared up in no time.

    love,
    Jaynee

  7. Ohhh, I hope all is well soon. My thoughts are with you. As of now I have washed two comforters, numerous sheets, disinfected two mattresses and washed two pillows to try to stop the virus from spreading. I guess it is going around!!

  8. My prayers for you and yours. I hope all are on the mend.

I do, however, have a question about your quote which must be from 1 Chronicles. If the socks multiply after their kind until the house is filled, why can the men never find them?

  9. Well, we were all thinking the same thing. I was going to ask if it was a yeast rash as well. My dd got this and a tube of Lotrimin did just the trick. Hope all gets well and woo hoo that hubby is coming home. Elizabeth1

    {sigh} an epidemic! Such nostalgia!
Not only did rashy butts get to go free in the air, but I put them on the couch in a sunny window. Sunshine kills about anything they can grow!
    Sooz in the tules

  11. Poor Mommy. :(
