Fried Chicken Coating

by Smockity Frocks on August 13, 2008

This fried chicken coating is so versatile that it can be used on several of the foods my family loves.

I have used it to coat chicken, oven fried pork chops, chopped sirloin (for chicken fried steak), and even potato wedges.

If using meat, soak in buttermilk and egg mixture for several hours. Then, dredge in the mixture and pan fry.

(Be sure to see my step by step photo tutorial for how to make fried chicken!)

I’m so excited to try your recipe for fried chicken and gravy. We’ve used packets of gravy for a long time but the more “real” things I can make for my family the better.

By the way I love to see you switch into mom mode mid video. Helps me know that my life with 4 kids is normal.

God Bless!
