I was just clicking through my stats when I sat, staring, stunned at what I saw.
Then I ran into the kitchen, where The Smockity Bunch was congregated around a chocolate cake MaddieLynn had just finished frosting.
Me: “Y’all are NOT going to believe this, but I have been nominated for a Homeschool Blog Award!”
Them: (smack, slurp) “What does that mean?”
Me: “I might get A HOMESCHOOL BLOG AWARD!!!”
Them: “Will you win a Wii?”
Me: “Well… no I don’t think so…”
Them: “Will you be the president?”
Me: “NO!”
Them: “…oh…” (more with the smacking and slurping)
I am nominated in the Best Cyber Buddy Blog category (number 17), and I know this next part will strike you as astonishing, but I am tied for, get ready for it, brace yourself, DEAD LAST!
Since I KNOW I can’t count on those cake consuming vultures to vote for me [directing Stink Eye at the family] will y’all please go directly over there and rock the vote for Smockity? Come on, now. Your my posse. My peeps. We are tight.

So, go ahead and ignore that nagging feeling that if you really did live next door to me you would be all, “Dude. I wish they would keep it down over there. Those Smockitys are all kinds of loud.”
