What REALLY worked for me this week was saving back one of the Star Wars DVDs that my kids got for Christmas.
I used it to bribe them with. Oh, yes. And I’m not even too proud to admit it.
I told them that they could all watch it just as soon as we had every last bit of Christmas packed away.
You have never seen such a whirlwind of productivity. There were lights and silver bells and garland flying through the air and landing in their proper places with nary a single broken bulb. Snow globes and little Santa figurines marched themselves into their protective boxes and the last box was put away all while I was leisurely stirring a cup of hot chocolate and whistling Carol of Bells. I think I even saw Santa wink at me from his Styrofoam coffin.
The above may possibly be a slight exaggeration, but I’m telling y’all I have never turned my head and had Christmas disappear as quickly and neatly as it did this year.
I believe saving back a DVD just became our newest Christmas tradition.
Go to Rocks In My Dryer to see what is working for a few other folks.
