Life Isn’t Fair: The Lecture

by Smockity Frocks on February 14, 2009

I overheard the following conversation:

4 yr. old: “You got the cup I was about to get. That’s no fair!”

7 yr. old: “Well, that’s how life is sometimes. You just have to buckle up and put on your happy nuggets.

(huh?)

Sometimes you go to the store with your mom and you bring $6 of your own money and you try to use it all to buy candy, but your mom says ‘No’ so you have to put it all back.

(guilty)

Life isn’t fair. And sometimes you go to brush your teeth and see that someone has used your toothbrush.

(ewww!)

That’s not fair, is it? Or sometimes you want to jump on the trampoline, but someone is already on there and you don’t want to wait, but you have to wait anyway. See? Life isn’t fair.”

4 yr. old: “Stop it! I don’t like the words you are saying!”

7 yr. old: “BUCKLE UP AND PUT ON YOUR HAPPY NUGGETS!

(wha..?)

That’s just another example of what I am talking about. You want me to stop talking, but I don’t want to. See how life isn’t fair?”

4yr. old: “MOMMMMMMYYYYYYYY!”

Cute. I’m going to have to use that saying- it will probably confuse them into silence. :)

Congrats- I saw you won the blog makeover from HSBA!
