How to Fix Stuff with Hot Glue and Duct Tape

by Smockity Frocks on March 16, 2010

When our headphones got stepped on and broken, we didn’t just chunk them and get new ones.

We got out the hot glue and duct tape.

We hot glued the padded ear doo-hickey.

And then repaired the head band part.

We reinforced it with duct tape for good measure, and they are good to go!

That’s what Works For Me!

Oh, yeah, hot glue and duct tape work for me too. So many uses! My husband made a robot costume for my son out of duct tape and a cardboard box – can’t get much cheaper, but boy was it well received!

We have the same ear phones and the ear thingys come off on ours too. I didn’t even think to use hot glue. Gonna do that now! Thx!

I can not tell you how many times I have hot glued things back together rather than throw it out. Things cost way to much to be throwing things out that still work.

Oh we love duct tape around here! And at Target the other day I saw all sorts of pretty plaid and colored duct tape…way cool:)
(oh and I got the box, thank you!)

Two of my favorite things hot glue and duck tape. I never thought to hot glue the foamy ear pads back on, but that is a good tip. I confess I get endlessly frustrated by the foamies constantly falling off! grrr. Okay, I’m better now, thanks for the tip. (I just found your site today, I’m looking forward to browsing around!)

God bless,
Shirley
