Before I show you how to French braid hair, I would like to tell you why this lady is my new pretend best friend.
Do you remember the discussion in my Blog Frog community a while back about helping children pronounce the /r/ sound correctly ? We have a particular interest in this issue here at Smockity Central, and it's sort of a sensitive subject, so I won't say any more than that.
Well, the lady in the video up there in that first link very patiently and lovingly goes over how exactly to pronounce the /r/ sound and explains in great detail how it is distinct and different from the /w/ sound. I love the way she encourages the listener by admitting that it may be difficult, but it can be done!
You can not imagine how excited I am about the lengths she goes to in explaining the difference! And I don't know that I've ever encountered anyone sweeter when it comes to speech practice! She is just a breath of fresh air! In fact, I think I'm going to call her up on the phone just as soon as I find out her number to ask her if I can come over and we can get on with the business of being best friends.
Hopefully, she won't find out about my special brand of crazy until after the whole best friend thing is sealed. (fingers crossed)
Annnnnyway, in completely unrelated news, here is my short video demonstrating how to French braid hair.
