Beesilk Dry Skin Care

by Smockity Frocks on July 25, 2010

I was recently contacted by Renee at MadeOn Hard Lotion to ask if I would like to try one of her hand made lotion bars. She calls it “beesilk” and for good reason!

She makes the bars with beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil, so they are all natural. The bar is softly scented by the beeswax, so that it smells of honey, and it is super silky on the skin.

I love the way the bar makes my skin feel luxuriously soft!

Renee would like to give away the 3 pack dry skin care package above, which includes a family size lotion bar, a pocket size lotion bar, and a lip balm.

You can enter up to three times to win this package.  (Please, leave a comment for each entry.)

  • Simply go to her hard lotion site and have a look around. Then come back here and tell me which essential oil you would add to a lotion bar if you were ordering a custom one. (Scroll down and look on the left side bar.)

I would have to try the peppermint essential oil. I have other peppermint body washes and love using them afterworking outside since they are cooling. I don’t have any all natural and would love to give these a try.

Love your blog!

If almond were a choice, I’d go with that. It wasn’t, so I voted lavender.

I can’t decide if I would choose Eucalyptus or Lavender- Eucalyptus is supposed to help with stress and Lavender is supposed to help with calming, and I need both since I have 5 children under 4 and one on the way :) . I’ve only given birth to 2 of them (2 are adopted and 1 is foster-to-hopefully-adopt) but I had severe preeclampsia with both of them and am doing everything natural possible to keep my blood pressure stable. Okay, so you probably didn’t need to know all that, but while I’m at it, I’ve been having great success with magnesium- so if anybody reads this and knows anything about it I would love advice/comments/success stories :) .

@Kate,

Kate, I had eclampsia with my second child. I was induced three days late b/c of my high blood pressure, and about seven hours or so after she was born, I had grand mal seizures and spent a couple of days in ICU. After that, I researched and took magnesium and other things with my next pregnancy, including a lot of protein.I’m sorry I don’t remember all the specifics (it was back in 1998), but I just want to encourage you with my story. Of course only God knows what helped, but He graciously kept me and I have never had a problem with pre-eclampsia or eclampsia since, through four more pregnancies!

My choice would be orange. It’s not a popular scent on your comments, but I think it’s a scent that “wakes you up”. With 4 children under 5 you know I have cracked skin from washing my hands ALL the time, so I would love to be a winner!
