Didja miss me?
We are back from our yearly dude ranch vacation. I’ll show you what we were up to while we were there, but first I’d like to thank all my guest posters for keeping you entertained and educated with all manner of recipes and crafts while I was gone. (I’m still catching up on laundry, so I have a couple more guest posts scheduled for this week that I think you will like!)
Here is (almost) everyone getting ready to load up for the 4+ hour drive.

You’ll be glad to know the boy was located before we pulled away. Everyone found 3 treats in their seats, and were allowed to open one each hour. As you can see, the lollipops were a favorite.

We made it! Here’s the view from the front porch of our cabin.

One of our favorite activities is building the fire and keeping it going. Everyone pitches in!

S’mores!

Every morning we woke to see the horses that had come for a drink in our pond. The girls loved feeding them sugar cubes and apples. And maybe eating a few sugar cubes themselves…

There was quite a lot of fishing,

some paddle boating,

falling in the water,

horseback riding,

and exploring nature.

This is our absolute favorite family vacation! No lines, no tickets, no stress!
What is your favorite vacation?

Sounds great! I’d love to know where you went. My husband would really love to take our 5 boys somewhere like this. Everything he has looked into says the boys have to be 13yrs old…would love to share this with him!
Thanks:)
warmly,
Taryn
@Taryn, We went to Rebel Hill Guest Ranch. It isn’t a typical dude ranch, but more of a ranch owning family who rents out several fully furnished cabins. You can schedule horse back riding if you want, but other than that it is very unstructured.
What a great idea for a vacation, that looks like so much fun!
