My biggest struggle is keeping up with the mess that the little ones (ok, and us big ones) make. I feel like the house is always cluttered to the point I would be embarrassed if someone randomly stopped by.

This book would help us get a “system” going so we can prctice hospitatlity. Currently, I need at least a two day notice before visitors can come – hee, hee! I think we need a big ol’ Hobart oven, mixer, commercial refrigerator, etc. so perhaps this book would really help with learning how to operate a large family household in a small family house!

Jane D. July 7, 2011 at 12:45 pm

Clutter. No one (including or especially me) is any good at throwing away things. We also have things that came from my mom when she moved into nursing care that are important and she might want later and things that came from cleaning out my father-in-laws house after he died. There is no place to put things away and because so much is out, no one is willing to put away things that do have a place.

I struggle with motivation and keeping up. Especially since Dh is unemployed (working on our 4th year now) – I’m not particularly creative in the making something into something else creative – our trailer is old and needs lots of repair work – I’m also taking care of my Dad’s house next door (twice as big as our house – our oldest sleeps in the guest room at night) – and a car accident 18 months ago left me with damage to my right arm – on top of Dh recently having a major heart attack from the stress …. anyway, I know we should be more on top of clutter and chores, but while we manage to mostly keep my Dad’s house looking good, our little trailer often looks really bad. There are a lot of things I really can’t do anything about (worn out carpet and linoleum or repairs sticking out like a sore thumb) but many days I’m even unmotivated to tackle what I can do to make a difference.

My counters grow clutter all by themselves…

Elizabeth July 8, 2011 at 9:35 am

I would LOVE to win this! Things are very chaotic right now after a cross country move and awaiting a new baby so I’m not sure which area of the home needs the most help right now.

Cynthia July 8, 2011 at 9:41 am

Definitely time management.

Julie July 8, 2011 at 10:08 am

My biggest problem area is our basement storage. It’s low priority as far as spending time on it so it gets junky.

Sarah July 8, 2011 at 10:53 am

My biggest struggle HAS to be in the area of time management. I *think* if I was better at that then the other areas would more easily fall into place…

Constance July 8, 2011 at 11:31 am

My kitchen needs some help! I still haven’t figured out a good meal plan that is time efficient/cost efficient and still healthy!

Lisa @ Me & My House July 8, 2011 at 12:45 pm

My clothing storage area – and sewing room. (My kids tend to trash these when I have them organized.)

LAUNDRY!!! The laundry monster is never appeased no matter how many socks I sacrifice to it.

Ev July 11, 2011 at 12:10 pm

My biggest struggle just now (because it changes from time to time) is the playroom! Ack!

Julie July 11, 2011 at 1:05 pm

I have 6 boys. I homeschool the first 5 and it’s a challenge to do that and keep up with the housework. I finish each day thinking I’m a failure for not being able to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’ve heard great things about this book and would love to try these methods for our home. Thank you for this opportunity!

Staying of top of everything when I am not feeling good or distracted. Everything goes well when I am on top of things, but seems to fall apart when I am not on the ball. I think I need to train them to work without be better, but not sure how to do that!

I think I need the most help in staying on a good schedule. Keeping things organized

Julie July 13, 2011 at 10:56 am

I would love this book.I’m not sure how to schedule all 6 of my boys to have all their school in and get it done at a decent hour. For instance, We just saw my hubby off to work at 11:30 and had to go grocery shopping in the middle of the week. So, in turn, school has barely been started for the day at NOON!!! So, this will now take us into the evening. I just can’t stand being this unorganized anymore. I’ve sat down many times trying to organize a schedule but always get stumped.:(
