Small Talk With Smockity Frocks – Webisode 1

by Smockity Frocks on July 22, 2011

I got this crazy idea in my  head that I should post a weekly “webisode” of me chit-chatting it up just so you can join me in my special brand of crazy.

In my very first webisode, I spent time talking with Kim from Life in a Shoe, who just happens to be staying with us while they are in town for a wedding. I took questions and suggestions on my Facebook fan page which we used as a springboard for our chat.

Let me know if you are interested in more of these, and if so, what topics would interest you.

I just got a kick out of hearing your voices! Somehow I didn’t imgine either of you to sound like that (though it’s not like my knowledge of different accents is that hot, so I’m not sure how I expected you to sound!)

Tiffany July 22, 2011 at 8:26 am

You are so fun! Loved the video. And I so relate to writing while everyone swarms around me. 7 hours per post that way sounds about right.

Jackie July 22, 2011 at 8:42 am

I loved the “Mommy I need to talk to you” makes me laugh every time.
That video was fun to watch!

Monica July 22, 2011 at 8:44 am

PLEASE do more of these! So fun to watch!

Kat Menard July 22, 2011 at 8:57 am

you are both are so cute! And the above comment is right–it is hard to imagine someone’s voice. It is nice to get a sense of you both, of what you are really like. It is so fun to make new friends online!

Lisa Emslie July 22, 2011 at 10:03 am

Very fun to watch and great tips for beginning bloggers ; )

KimC July 22, 2011 at 10:15 am

That was fun! Let’s do this weekly. Next weekend you have to come to my house, mkay?

Jasmine @ Ponder the Path July 22, 2011 at 11:09 am

I loved this! Thank you for sharing. I have been following both your blogs for a long time and it is nice to really see your personalities come out on the video. BTW, I think I am right in between the 2 of you, so Connie on your drive down to Kim’s, you can stop by for a glass of ice tea ; )

liz July 22, 2011 at 11:14 am

Super cute video! I hope you will do more. =)

I LOVE THIS!!! I just fell in love with Kim’s blog yesterday and am so excited to see you both on video! I am fascinated by what you can do with a large family on little (but always “enough” because God provides for our true needs).

What do I want to see more of in future webisodes? I want to see what the kids rooms look like and how they are organized, laid out and sleeping arrangements! I read Kim’s blog on how they do it, but I would love to see it on video too for the both of you (of maybe even the 4 moms 35 kids)!

You both give me and my husband encouragement as we are struggling right now (my hubby is looking for work and I want to stay at home with our little one). Although we only have one baby so far, we would like a few more so I love reading about your large families. Money is REALLY tight and we want to have more kids and we know that GOD will PROVIDE for us when we do. But the rest of the world would think we are crazy, but you guys get it. You value the important stuff (family and God).

At least once a week I share what I’ve read on your blog with my husband over dinner. Always inspired by you both!

Can’t wait to “see” you more on webisodes!

(And Connie, thanks for being so honest about stalking Kim so long before commenting on her blog and meeting her, that’s what I’ve done with your site too!) Do you guys live close to each other?

THANKS!!!

So this has nothing to do with this post, but there is an ad for the Gap sale in your sidebar…. I just have to ask, How in the world does gap think that models posed like this http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=26692&vid=1&pid=808059&scid=808059002 is going to get any mom to be to buy thier product….. It looks more like someone doing a potty dance or something!!!!! LOL Manybe the pants are too tight to get off in time to use the potty!

I enjoyed that! Good idea! You two are two of the three blogs that I regularly read, so it was fun to see you together. (the other one is Raising Olives, started with Connie (don’t remembe how), then got stuck on the three of you. It’s kind of weird, this reading blogs thing, I do feel like I’m stalking ya’ll sometimes:)
I am encouraged by your love for the Lord and your children, thank you.

Sonya July 22, 2011 at 2:01 pm

I love it! Great idea!

Kim July 22, 2011 at 3:14 pm

That was fun! I read both of your blogs daily and it was fun to hear you! And you’re both so pretty too, prettier “live” even than in photos!

Heather July 22, 2011 at 3:16 pm

Oh I loved that! Is there a way we can ask questions without Facebook?

Sharon July 22, 2011 at 4:15 pm

Oh no! I have blogspot! I have on my wishlist to get a domain name. But I just can’t do it yet. Soon, though. Can you recommend where to buy it from?
I need two- One for my personal blog and one for my local events blog.
I love the videos! More, please!

Gena July 22, 2011 at 5:43 pm

Very fun! I’m looking forward to seeing more!

Hi, I love reading, but I don’t watch videos. They take too much time for me. But I always can skip them and wait for text. Thanks!

The video was fantastic! It would be fun to see more videos…maybe in the ’4 Moms answer your questions’ post…do one video answer in that post. That would be fun to see.

Peggie July 23, 2011 at 5:25 am

You encouraged me to get back into it! This was fun to see and grab a little of the personality in real life. Thank you!

I thought that was fun and would be helpful if I actually had a blog. :) You two must have had a great time together, and I wish I could meet some of you lovely lady bloggers! I come to Smockity Frocks and Life in A Shoe often and occasionally comment. God bless!
