We got to enjoy some fruit from our garden today!

In sad news, one of The Groovy Gardening Girls, Phoebe, will not be participating this week because she is spending every moment with her mother who is in her last days on this earth.
For this reason, this will be the last link up until August 31.

Ooh, yummy. You are blessed to have melon from the garden.
Delicious! Up here in northern Canada, its not even feasible to grow our own watermelon because our growing season is so short. We get watermelons in stores here from June to September and I buy a lot
.
How do you know when you watermelon are ripe? We picked one too early, it was still whit inside.
Did you see the Ree the Pioneer Woman just put a recipe for Watermelon Granita on her website. Looks like it might be a neat treat on a hot day! Here is the link to it…http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/07/watermelon-granita/
I want some!
I am jealous! Since the arrival of the twins we have not had a garden. Although this Fall I hope the garden is going to have to make a come back , its not looking good since we are moving Lord willing. So I guess well just have to start rationing! HA! Garden fresh fruits and veggies are the best.
