Interview With 2 Children

by Smockity Frocks on August 19, 2011

It’s time for another episode of Small Talk With Smockity Frocks!

[Insert awesome graphic here.]

This week, I interviewed 2 of my 7 daughters, Katherine and Reagan.

If you are reading this from an email feed, you’ll have to click through to the blog to see the video.

(Don’t worry. We had a discussion about interrupting after the recording session.)

You are such a good mom! The girls are so sweet.

They are both really sweet and cute. I’m afraid my dear daughters would not have been so sweet when getting interrupted by their sister. Note to self…work on that! You must write a post about teaching littles to read and write. I am having a hard time getting my almost 5 yr old to even learn her letter sounds.

So cute!

I agree with Shannon. I was so proud of my 5-year old for reading several sentences, but as far as writing goes, she can only write her name and individual letters. Is she way behind? I mean, I know all kids learn at different rates, but that’s a huge difference. (I was hoping you’d turn Reagan’s notebook around so we could see what it looked like.) Anyhow, we’d love for you to share any tips. And I also agree with the others- they are so cute!

Yes, you must write a post about teaching reading and writing. You and your children are adorable! And I love the topic. How incredible develop servant hearts in ones so young!

Awww! How sweet!

They are the female versions of my Connor (4) and Ian (6). Seriously.

Thank you for sharing your family with us! This video is encouraging me to do a better job this school year!

Connie,
This is beautiful…seeing your children learning about serving others and loving Jesus…it’s truly a thing of beauty. It’s plain to see you take the time to disciple your children–something that seems to be lost today.

I have been to your blog in passing, but haven’t actually dug into it much. {There are SO many blogs out there, it’s hard to know which ones to stick with sometimes!}

This video alone was enough to capture me to subscribe. Thank you for sharing…I think I could learn a lot from you! Blessings!

Precious!

Hi Connie, beautiful webisode.
In your video you spoke about your devotions together in the morning. I am trying to get a system of reading God’s word together in the morning (we typically do devotionals in the past focused on one verse of the bible) but wondering what do you do, especially with various ages studying together at the same time. My oldest is 13 and youngest is 3. I would love you to share your insight and ideas!

Thank-you for sharing.

Connie,

Blessings to you and your sweet family. You are such an encouragement to me, and I am prayerfully setting out this school year to focus more on God’s word and His will for our lives rather than mimicking school at home. Thanks for the peak into your world.

God Bless You!

I really love your blog. Thank you for the time you take to post. I wanted to ask you if you could do a blog sometime about childrens old christian songs. I am trying to teach my children old hymns and bible songs. I once heard this song many years ago…but I only know some words. Does anyone know this song?
“I know a boy who is Christian 3x How does he live his days? He reads his Bible everyday. He witnesses to takes time to pray. And when his mothers calls he says okay. That’s how he lives each day!

It is also sung for girls…but I don’t know the words. Can anyone help?
Thank you so much for your time.

God Bless You,
Brenda

Adorable! I loved this. What an encouragement. Thanks so much for sharing.

I really like the journaling idea after Bible reading. Will be trying that out with my kiddos.

Loved this! I especially love Reagan’s hand gestures…my four year old daughter is very demonstrative with her hands too! :)

The journal idea after Bible is awesome! I am going to employ this in our homeschool too!

You gals are so sweet!

Love your videos Connie! It makes me happy when You Tube lets me know you’ve uploaded a new one. Your girls are so sweet! Love hearing / watching interviews with kids. They are always the best. : )
