Menu Plan – Cooking For 20 Kids

I’m SUPER excited that I will be hosting  The Lockwoods this week at my home! I have been following their blog for years and I can’t believe I talked them into staying at my house while on furlough from their mission work in Mexico!

Needless to say, since they have 12 children and we have 8, I’ll be serving a LOT of food, so I’ll at least double each recipe!

Here’s my dinner plan:

  1. My husband and I can’t even begin to express my admiration for you after reading that you will have/be feeding 20 kids at your house. Wowzers! May God bless and give you supernatural grace to tune into His frequency if/when the noise level gets too much.

  2. I’m jealous! :) (in a lovely, Christian way of course!! :) — We love reading about the Lockwoods’ ministry too – so it will be fun to hear about your time together. Also appreciate these big family menu ideas – number 8 is joining our crew in December so it doesn’t take much for us to have a super full house when we have company. Thanks for the ideas!

  3. Connie, it is 7:30 in the morning here and you are making my mouth water!

I hope you enjoy your company!

  4. That is awesome! You are an admirable, brave woman! I get stressed out with 2 extra kids here eating!! LOL. Have you read the Duggars’ book? They have lots of yummy recipes that I have tried and are easy and make lots for big families! :)

  5. It sounds like a great idea to have friends/missionaries at your home! What a great experience for both families and all the kids;) We hosted our revival pastor at our house… they were friends from seminary, so it was a sweet visit… of course everyone thought we were crazy having our 4 with their 5;) LOL!!

Just a question (especially now since we’re house hunting) do you have a table large enough for all those people/kids? Or do you eat in shifts? Or do you bring in extra tables?? I’d love a kitchen and table big enough to have lots of company with lots of kids… so it’s just something thats been on my mind:)

  6. Connie, you are making me hungry! And I just ate breakfast! That’s bad! :)
You are the best and we are going to have so much fun! I hope we don’t scare you. I’m bringing 9 boys into your house. And they are very, um, boy.
The good news is that if you ever feel your house is noisy or chaotic, it will feel so very quiet and calm after we leave! :)
Thank you for having us come! I can’t wait! See you in a few hours~

  7. I follow their blog too! Can’t wait to see pics AND try and get a webisode in!!! (Please)

  8. That sounds so yummy and so much fun!! I would so love to meet the Lockwoods, but every stop that they are making is at least a 10+ hour drive…so we’ll just look forward to your blog posts:) What a fun week you will have!!

  9. If I were a kid there, I’d be happy!

  10. I have been enjoying your blog for a few months now and love “following” your family. What a blessing for your husband to have work but you amaze me how you hold down the fort alone and still have sense of humor in your blog posts. Last night I made your Mexican Mess and tonight we had the White Castle Sliders – 2 thumbs up from all 5 of us 2 nights in a row. The other 3 recipes you posted are in the works for the upcoming week. We were in need of new recipes and yours have hit the mark! Thank you!!

  11. You are my hero ! I cannot even imagine. On days when I am feeling overwhelmed with my 4 boys, your blog gives me such inspiration.

    Thank you !

  12. I feed 20 children 3x a day, 7 days a week.. – so I would love to hear how you multiplied your recipes to fit :) thanks much! (especially the sliders and the fall fry – are you 2.5 x yoru regular recipes or 3x?)

    thanks!
    Amanda
