I am thrilled to pieces that the congregation I attend has a program wherein the older women come together once a month to teach the younger women various skills, like how to make strawberry jam , starting a garden, simple sewing, making homemade mixes , bread making, pie making, and more.
This month's class was on candy making, just in time for the holidays!
Here are some of the tips I gleaned this month:
Don't be afraid to use your hands.
Heavy duty cookware and a candy thermometer are essential.
Use the back of a knife to break up peanut brittle.
To keep wax paper from moving around on the counter, wet the counter slightly. This keeps the wax paper in place!
And finally, chocolate makes everything better!
