My Creativity Energy

by Smockity Frocks on October 28, 2012

You may have noticed a distinct lack of recipes or DIY projects here at Smockity Frocks recently. That is because there is a limit to my genius, people!

I have been spending my time and brain cells picking out paint colors, door knobs, and light fixtures for our new bedrooms and dressing kids as Biblical characters for Fall Festival costume contests.

Here from left to right, you can see Pharoah’s daughter with Baby Moses, whom she just retrieved from the Nile river, in the basket at her feet; Delilah, with Samson’s hair and the scissors she used to cut it; your obligatory angel; the dry bones from Ezekiel’s vision; and a very distraught Miriam, obviously upset about about the prospect of placing her baby brother, Moses, into the muddy Nile River.

And also a random, friendly dog who seems to have taken an interest in Delilah’s hair cutting skills.

Lastly, my creative energy was used completely up trying to pick out a dress for my husband’s company‘s Christmas party and entertaining my daughters with this re-enactment of my party poses. (Email readers may need to click through to see the video.)

So, what do y’all think of this dress in ruby for a fancy Christmas party? And more importantly, how often should I strike the sassy pose?

That dress is classic Audrey Hepburn. How exactly is anyone “too old” for that? I personally love it.

Hilarious. I don’t think it’s too young. It’s a simple classic & beautiful frock.

You pretty much have to do the sassy pose pretty frequently.

Love the dress! Ruby would look great but black is classic! And for you???? Keep the sassy pose constantly going! (except when you need the pee pose!)

I love this dress and I think ruby would be great for a Christmas party :) . And this is a classic look, not a teenager’s look. Although my hubby told me last night that I dress and act like I’m in my 20′s even though I’m in my mid 30′s (whatever THAT means! I think it was a compliment…) so what do I know? ;)

The dress is FAB. What the heck kind of dress would be “older” than that and still look good? No dress, I tell you!

Get it, get it, get it, get it, get it.

The last time I wore a dress was 18 years ago – my wedding dress. I think this dress would look great, not too sure about the poses maybe you should just skip those…Have a blast

Love the kids’ outfits, especially Delilah.

Beautiful dress. Love the black, but go for the ruby if that’s what you want. :)
