How to Help Tornado Victims, Catch Fireflies, and Manage Your Mouth

I’ll bet you woke up this morning thinking, “I wonder where I could find out how to do a bunch of unrelated, albeit important, stuff today.”

Well, you have come to the right place!

  • I’m sure you have heard about the devastating tornado in Oklahoma. My husband had to drive right through that area to get home from a business trip after it happened, and he was blown away with the sheer magnitude of destruction. He said there were piles of mangled cars all along the interstate where they had been stacked to get them out of the way.

My blogging friend, Carrie, is from Moore, and she has written a post about different ways to help the tornado victims. If you are wondering what you can do, check out all the suggestions she has on that page.

  • We saw our first lightning bugs of the year, which means fun summer nights are here! Nothing says summer like little girls squealing about putting lightning bugs in a pickle jar! Don’t believe me? I dare you to watch this video without sighing wistfully. Plus, you’ll find plenty of firefly activities and printables on that page for you and your kids to enjoy.

This has been a true labor of love for me, since I am a recovering sassy talker-backer. It doesn’t come naturally for me to control my tongue, so I really wrote this 30 day devotional guide for myself.

I included a scripture for each day about encouraging speech, so I think it would be a wonderful Bible study for a group, a family, or even an individual. There is even a “Journal Time” section for each day so you can record your progress.

If you would like daily reminders, straight from God’s word, about how important it is to manage your mouth, this is it. If you read it and like it, I would love to have your review on the Amazon page, and please tell your friends about it.

  1. Squeeee! Congratulations on your book. The cover looks awesome! I’m so proud of you, my friend.

  2. For those of us too far away to bring donations to the people in Oklahoma, Samaritan’s Purse is a wonderful ministry that will bring not only provisions for physical needs but spiritual hope as well. Visit http://www.samaritanspurse.org.
