Post-its For Scheduling

August 31, 2010

I love Post-it notes for scheduling my homeschool day!

Since they can easily be removed and re-stuck, I can rearrange and modify my schedule without erasing or starting over as I would have to in a planner.
Because they are bright and good sized, we can all see what we need to be doing at once.
I use [...]

Letting Kids Create Recipes

August 17, 2010

I like to let my children help me in the kitchen, and they generally enjoy contributing.
Usually, I will give them the recipe I want made, but occasionally I let them come up with an original recipe.  My Madison asked to create a dish last week and it was a big hit!
Everyone loved it, and I [...]

Post Partum Horror-mones and Deodorant

July 13, 2010

I have started this post and deleted it several times, because I don’t want y’all to be grossed out by my odiferous admissions.  But I am willing to humiliate myself in the interest of saving my fellow sisters some embarrassment. I do it for you.
My peeps. My posse. My homies.

Hand Held Water Misting Fans Work For Me

June 22, 2010

Do you know what the temperature was where I live deep in the heart of Texas today? It was hotter’nblueblazes.9 degrees. Really. That’s what it said on the giant thermometer at the pool. I’m pretty sure it was some kind of record.
Fortunately, I had this little handy dandy water misting fan with me so I [...]

So Nurturing Baby Wrap Giveaway!

May 25, 2010

I have had a sling for the last few babies, but I was always concerned about how the babies’ heads were prone to be covered up by the thick, bunched up fabric.
Well, it turned out that [...]

May 18, 2010

I have gotten a couple or 35 emails about my blog being broken and some of you may have noticed that when you tried to access good ol’ Smockity Frocks, you got a virus warning.
But, never fear! Thanks to the techno-skills of Joy the Wonderful, my blog has been checked out thoroughly and it appears that [...]

I would like to tell you how we recently used the buddy system for cleaning rooms.
Since we have three little girls in one small [...]

How to Fix Stuff with Hot Glue and Duct Tape

March 16, 2010

When our headphones got stepped on and broken, we didn’t just chunk them and get new ones.

We got out the hot glue and duct tape.

We hot glued the padded ear doo-hickey.

And then repaired the head band part.

We reinforced it with duct tape for good measure, and they are good to go!
That’s what Works For Me!
*Don’t [...]
