This is what we do when we’re bored around here. It’s almost like we’re NUTS. Oh, wait… WE ARE!
I am so thrilled that I was able to spend some time with The Lockwood Family this week!
I actually “met” Jaynee several years ago through blogging. We have prayed for each other through pregnancies, childbirths, job losses, disappointments, and even life threatening illnesses. She has encouraged us many times over the years, so you can imagine my excitement to actually meet her and her family in real life and hug her neck!
She is even sweeter in person than she seems on her blog, if you can imagine that. PLUS, her entire family is full of fun and laughter and LOVE! I am still giddy over the fact that I talked them into spending a few days with our family!
Here we are together chatting about Mexican food, speaking Spanish, and spending time in God’s word. (Email readers will have to click through to see the video.)
A few months ago, when my husband was laid off, we made the decision that I would no longer be blogging for free t-shirts and boxes of cereal. Out of necessity, we decided that all future product mentions would require a minimum cash compensation.
And then I was asked if I would like a free pair of Heelys, maybe for one of the kids, and I was all, “Seriously?! Are you kidding me? I’m ordering those suckers in my size! THEY ARE SNEAKERS WITH WHEELS IN THE HEELS! ”
So, I temporarily suspended our new policy, ordered the shoes, and daily fought the kids for a chance to wear them (my 9yo even wore them to Walmart one day).
The verdict? We all officially fell in love with them.
What’s not to love? THEY ARE SNEAKERS WITH WHEELS IN THE HEELS!
Check out this video (email readers will have to click through) of how easy they make my housework!
*Disclosure: I was provided with these Heelys through Business 2 Blogger.
For the latest edition of Small Talk With Smockity Frocks, I show you my hen house, front yard and porch while I interview my 3 year old.
What I don’t show you is that I didn’t feel like putting on lipstick or taming my bumpy hair. In this webisode I stay behind the camera, but my 3 year old is so stinkin’ cute, she can pull off a solo appearance.

(Sorry about the barking dog! I promise she does it because she knows it annoys me.)
It’s time for another episode of Small Talk With Smockity Frocks!

This week, I interviewed 2 of my 7 daughters, Katherine and Reagan.

(Don’t worry. We had a discussion about interrupting after the recording session.)
Are you teaching your kids that they can make a difference in the world?
Here is a girl who has made a positive impact on a very grateful family! She and her mother (who I went to high school with in the 1900′s!) drove 2 hours to deliver these supplies!
This go-getter told me that she also organized a 5K run and raised the funds for a kidney transplant for a local school girl!
Don’t you know her family must be so proud of this young lady?! Thank you, Raegan and Kim!
